A historic pub-turned-rock venue in West London. The Greyhound featured a large backroom music hall that hosted many up-and-coming bands during the crucial Pub Rock and early punk era. It bridged multiple scenes from Irish folk in the 60s, to bluesy pub rock in early 70s, to punk gigs in the late 70s.
1970s live-rock hotspot that was one of London's premier pub venues. Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Average White Band, The Stranglers, and The Jam all played there early in their careers. Joe Strummer famously signed on to join The Clash outside this venue. Even jazz-rock and prog figures like Graham Bond and Matching Mole appeared. Key venue on the pub circuit along with the Red Cow and Hope & Anchor.
